Sommershorts/Summershorts "Flora"

Summer just started recently, well the end of spring it was already hot so I consider it to be summer. I made this shorts Flora, pattern is from www.pattydoo.de. Since my eldest daughter has been asking for shorts so there she have one now in addition to what she was wearing already before. It is kind of exciting that I was able to sew clothing for my children or even hubby. The jeans was bought at Royal Tissus. 

Damenshirt/Women's Shirt "Sara"

My second Damenshirt/Women's Shirt Sara, pattern is from www.pattydoo.de. Normally this is better with jersey fabric but in this case I experimented using a woven cotton fabric but it wasn't a good idea since I am big on the tummy area, so if using cotton better if I am slim then it wouldn't be a problem I guess. I combined it with an eyelet fabric yoke that is from my stash. Flowery fabric I bought it from a recent trip to Stoffenspektakel/Marché du Tissu here in Liège, as you can see it from this video.

Rosie Crossbody Bag

My eldest daughter received a second hand phone from her father and so I have to make a bigger bag for her. On the first photo, this was her previous bag that she has been using since she received it last Christmas. So I used the same handle for this Rosie Crossbody Bag, pattern is from www.swoonpatterns.com. Actually I've cut these fabrics long time ago (1 Dec 2016) and it is now that I have decided to sew it and just the same time that it is called for. You may notice it is quite the same exterior fabric and accents like the one from Dollie Mini Crossbody which is also the pattern of www.swoonpatterns.com.

Moxie Crossbody Bag

Yay my second Bag of the Month Club - April 2017. A Moxie Crossbody Bag, pattern is from Betz White. This bag is given to the classmate of my eldest daughter for their what they call "Cacahuète" wherein every student in the class have to pick up a paper with name on it and they have to give a gift for that certain person but everybody is not oblige to participate.  

This gift is personalised. I used a striped jeans combined it with a paisley flowery fabric for the exterior and accent of the bag and as for the lining its a white flowers with a light green background of fabric. The striped jean fabric is from my stash and the paisley flowery fabric plus lining are bought from Royal Tissus. I made a mistake in cutting the exterior and lining fabric because both are in reverse compare to the picture shown on the pattern. But fortunately it just so happen that the person who will receive it puts her bag on the left side of her hip. And in this case I do not wrap the gift I just rolled it and tied is with a fabric.

Sublime Bag

Finally I was able to make a Bag of the Month Club - February 2017. It is a Sublime Bag, pattern is from www.sewsweetness.com. Along the way of sewing this bag, I missed or I might have ignored some part that I didn't read on the instruction so I just remedied it at the last moment. Not only that I accidentally cut the portion of the zipper tape and guess what it was where my zipper pulls are located, oh my I almost seam ripped the zipper. Good thing I was able to save it and pass the zipper pulls on the opposite side. The last problem that I encountered at the end was how to sew up and close the part where the zipper tape ends on both sides. Definitely that won't pass through my machine so I did it by hand then. Just want to mention that the zipper I bought is not the usual thing that is used on a bag, well what I am trying to say is that both zipper pulls closes up when it is separated as in resting on both end of the zipper tape unlike the usual bag zippers, it closes up when they meet up in the middle.

Damenshirt/Women's Shirt "Sara"

I made a Damenshirt/Women's Shirt "Sara", pattern is from www.pattydoo.de. This is so easy to make. I just made this in half a day, from getting your preferred size measurement in a multi-size bodice pattern to your burda tissue paper and then pinning that on your chosen fabrics and cutting it at the same time and then voilà this is the result. I now have a new shirt to wear today especially I am heading out with hubby. Nothing fancy just going to the car mechanic for a simple repair and then bonding time while we stroll in the heat of the sun because we have to wait for an hour.
