A dress project for my eldest daughter for her to wear on Saturday (28 May) it is their school feast, (and oh the other girl here on the photo is my youngest daughter but I didn't make her dress, how I wish I did :-).) And so the teacher required her or them to wear black dress, but the thing is I have few blacks or better yet not literally all black fabrics and this one that I've sewn for her is the best choice. Anyway it will be worn one time only and at the same time I am on a thrifty mode then I didn't opted to buy new fabrics but it seems like her teacher wasn't happy with the choice I made for her. Oh well, next time I will buy what is being asked even if I am on thrifty mode! Fabrics are from my stash, pattern is from www.pattydoo.de - Marylin, it is a peplum but I made it as a dress and added a belt sash. I used black fabric for the peter pan collar and belt sash because I have some as left over just to have a touch of black.

Finally I finished this diamond strings pillow from craftsy by Maureen Cracknell. I am supposed to do two pillows for my two daughters its just that I have to prioritize other stuff for the moment but in no time I will do start and finish the other pillow as well. I am not good in fabric combination, whenever I sew I just mix up fabrics that I like thats why the result is like this. I made a free motion quilting for the first time at the back part of this pillow and since I am not so proud of it because I just made it "n'importe quoi" as my children will say it in french meaning whatever. Whenever I see quilters do free motion quilting I always thought it is so damn easy, but when I tried it oh my goodness it is not so easy as it seems. Fabrics are from stash - stoffenspektakel, chamick and veritas, also used cotton batting and ready made bias tape.

After gathering all the necessary materials that I needed, some are already in my stash some needs ordering online. I was able to finish this bag that I've been dying to make since I bought the class. Its Colorful Patchwork Bags and Baskets from craftsy.com by Caroline Fairbanks-Critchfield. Normally I would use the gridded interfacing, its just that where I am located it is by centimeters and not in inches so I opted to not buy it and instead do it the usual way and that is to piece it but I did use a woven interfacing at the back. I am no expert when it comes to quilting I am just beginning to learn and enjoy. And since I am into bags, I will do and try out new things. Front part of the bag and the inside there are pockets, the bag is lined with soft&stable by annie, the closure is magnetic snaps. I ask craftsy and Caroline if it is ok to sell sewn projects that I made from this class and they said yes. So you will see this bag at etsy

I made a tote bag today. It is a reversible tote bag wendy, pattern is from www.pattydoo.de. I included two big pockets in front and since it is reversible, it can be an inside pockets as well. Front fabric are cartoons where the pockets are located and the other side are word puzzles.I bought these fabrics at Les Tissus du Chien Vert, in Hognoul. I didn't use any interfacing just plain fabrics. I ask my 11 yr. old daughter to model for me. This is available now at etsy.

I made this bag as a gift for my youngest daughters classmate - "Kids Milly". Pattern is from www.pattydoo.de. It is easy to make and there are two sizes and it is reversible too, one for adult and another one for kids and I make the kids one. I used fabric from Ikea and the other I bought long time ago at stoffenspektakle.

I made again a Linked in to Style Purse, pattern by www.gardenofdaisies.com of www.oregonpatchworks.com. This time I didn't use the usual bag handle instead I made a strap out of the faux leather that I bought at Les Tissus Du Chien Vert. I used the previous lining that I had but not the second lining - beige cream colour, which you can see through from the light blue lining. I did the same method as the first purse. Next time I will have to increase the width of the upper band so that it will be easy to fold and to sew. This faux leather is easy to manipulate not "sticking" on my zigzag foot and I used an orange rusty colour of thread, it blends well on the colour of the faux leather. I am loving this bag even though it takes a lot of effort, I will be making this again!
